We covered the event photography with multiple cameras at varying elevations, and used an ultra-fast 400mm lens configuration to freeze motion on-stage even in the dimmest sections of performances. Scouting out locations and having knowledge of lighting schematics beforehand help mitigate reliance on strobes. A background in contact sports is useful in navigating SXSW crowds as well.
