Done properly, event photography should be a documentation of interactions portrayed naturally without any excessive flashing, posing or otherwise disrupting conduction. We have shot event photography for dozens of organizations here in Austin from corporate events and mixers to happy hours and parties. Some of the most prominent events we’ve photographed include Baker Hughes global executive N+10 summit, Formula One opening track day, the Austin Business Awards and Microsoft’s Austin store launch.
Using a small off-camera flash, I’m able to capture smiles and expressions without blinding my subjects. When natural light is available, I use a long fast lens to capture the most natural interactions possible without disturbing the flow of an event. I’ve found this to be especially important while shooting on-stage presentations. I’ve personally trained the assistant photographers we use to employ the same techniques producing consistent, publication-grade photography for events needing greater coverage.
